Is N-TECH’s Ceramic Tint Expensive!?
We sometimes receive very general inquiries asking, “How much is ceramic tint?”
Among shops using XPEL PRIME XR PLUS, we believe our pricing is close to the most competitive available.
Customers also occasionally tell us that another shop quoted $XXX. However, those quotes are often for standard XR, while the main film we install at N-TECH is the higher-grade XR PLUS.
When comparing prices, make sure you are comparing the actual film being installed—not simply the words “ceramic tint.”
Will XR BLUE Make Everything Look Blue?
It is not nearly as blue as the name makes it sound.
Clear materials naturally tend to have either a slightly warm or cool tone. Since much of today’s automotive glass already has a subtle blue tone, XR BLUE blends naturally with the vehicle’s original glass.
What Are the Benefits of XR PLUS?
XR PLUS offers excellent heat rejection while maintaining a clear, natural view, even when sunlight hits the glass at an angle.
Because it is a non-metallic film, it is also designed to avoid interfering with smartphone and wireless signals.
For EVs, reducing the workload on the climate-control system may also help improve efficiency, particularly during colder weather when the heater consumes more energy.
Will Windshield Film Look Like a Rainbow?
Depending on the polarized sunglasses you wear, you may notice a rainbow-like pattern through the windshield.
This tends to be more noticeable with some lower-cost polarized lenses. With higher-quality sunglasses, it is often far less noticeable or may not be an issue at all.
Can Tinting the Roof of a Tesla Model Y Cause the Glass to Crack?
There is no clear evidence that window film itself causes the panoramic roof glass to crack.
Some early Model Y vehicles experienced roof-glass issues related to installation or alignment, and damage has also occurred from incorrectly installed roof racks. These incidents may have contributed to the rumor that tint film was responsible.
Is Window Tint a Good Idea for Classic Cars?
Absolutely.
Window film can help protect rare interiors from UV exposure and may also slow the deterioration that sometimes causes the edges of older glass to become cloudy or discolored.
For classic cars with difficult-to-replace original glass, preserving the existing glass can be especially valuable.
When maintaining the original appearance is important, we recommend a high-transparency film.
